Ajmer is one city where there is well to do blend and a very happy combination
of both Sufi culture and Hindu religion. Ajmer is a coveted and strategic place

as the heart for their administration work till Prithviraj was defeated in 1193

Durgah in Ajmer
Ajmer is one of the holiest places for the Muslimsand a landmark in the country.
It has a secular appeal and followed by a lot of people of all sects. Khwaja
Moin-ud-din Chisti, a Sufi saint from Persia took over this place as his abode
from 1192 till he died in 1236 AD. Mughal King Humayun were successful in the
construction of the shrine.
Lakes in Ajmer
Ana Sagar: Yet another artificial lake named after
Anaji Chauhan is the Ana Sagar Lake. The catchments were built with the support
of the local people. The 'Baradari' pavilions were famous as Shah Jahan built
it, to facilitate his long stays in Ajmer, also built them. The Baradari and
the adjoining parks are the lungs of city and favorite outing spot.

Taragarh Fort: This marvelous and giant fort stands
strong guarding the city. It has six gates and also the fort also has Miran
Saheb ki Dargha who was the governor of the fort who laid down his life in an
encounter. It gives a beautiful view of the city that is situated in Nagpahari
of Aravalli ranges; this fort has a lot of immense archaeological and historical
importance.
