The name Ranthambore is derived from two hills in the area, Ran and Thanbhor.
Another version says that Ranthambhore was once called Rana Stambhapura or City

at 2135hrs and reaches Sawai Madhopur at 0505hrs. On return it leaves Sawai
Madhopur at 2140hrs and reaches New Delhi at 0650hrs. Leaves Bandra terminus
at 2225hrs and reaches Sawai Madhopur at 2140hrs next day, and arrives next
day New Delhi at 0530hrs.
